Forest City Co-op opened in 1982 and consists of 40 townhouse units (no garages), ranging from 1 to 3 bedroom units. The 1-bedroom apartments are on one level, while 2 of the 1-bedroom units have basements. Both the 2 and 3 bedroom units include a basement, main floor and upper level. We provide our members with access to the common room located in the office unit #20, and on-site parking. We have an on-site laundry room with affordable rates per load. Garbage and recycling is collected once a week and deposited at the complex dumpster and recycling bins, and bulky items need to be disposed of by each member off-site. Bulky items can either be brought to the nearby Clark Road Dump/EnviroDepot or donated to various community agencies such as Diabetes Canada (which offers free pick up).
The co-op is located in a quiet neighbourhood – about a 5 minute drive to Highway 401. Walk 5 – 10 minutes or drive 4 minutes to reach popular destinations such as Shoppers Drug Mart, Dollarama, Food Basics, Tim Hortons and Subway. The co-op is also close to schools, a Public Library, TD Bank, gas stations, restaurants and Southeast Optimist Park. One of the public transit stops is located at the corner of Banbury and Deveron and others are about a 5 – 10 minute walk away.
This is a great community for all people from all walks of life – our co-op is very diverse and welcomes all!
